Privacy Policy

Effective Date: April 29, 2026

Welcome to ServiceLedger. ServiceLedger is designed with a strong focus on privacy, transparency, and local-first data ownership. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected, how it is used, and the choices you have regarding your data.

1. Information We Collect

ServiceLedger primarily stores your data locally on your device. Depending on how you use the app, the following information may be stored:

  • Vehicle information, including vehicle make, model, year, VIN, and license plate information.
  • Maintenance records, including service history, maintenance plans, notes, and costs.
  • Fuel tracking data, including fuel entries, fuel economy calculations, and fuel costs.
  • Mileage and tax records, including odometer entries, tax mileage events, and business mileage calculations.
  • App settings and preferences, including unit preferences, currency preferences, and feature settings.

2. Local-First Storage

ServiceLedger is designed as an offline-first application. Your app data is primarily stored locally on your device and is not automatically uploaded to external servers operated by ServiceLedger. You maintain control over your data.

3. Backups and Exported Data

ServiceLedger allows users to create backups and export their data. Exported files are created at your direction and may be stored on your device, in your personal cloud storage accounts, or shared using your device's share functionality. You are responsible for securing exported files and backups after export.

4. Purchases and Subscriptions

ServiceLedger may offer premium features through subscriptions, one-time purchases, or lifetime unlocks. Purchases are processed securely through Google Play Billing. ServiceLedger does not directly collect or store your payment card information. Google may collect transaction-related information according to its own privacy policies.

5. Analytics and Tracking

ServiceLedger is designed to minimize data collection. At this time, ServiceLedger does not sell personal information to third parties and does not use invasive advertising trackers. If analytics or crash reporting tools are added in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.

6. Permissions

Depending on the features used, ServiceLedger may request limited device permissions such as file access for importing/exporting backups or media/document access for selecting files. ServiceLedger only requests permissions necessary for core functionality.

7. Data Security

Reasonable measures are taken to help protect your information and exported data. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. Users are encouraged to maintain secure device access, keep backups safe, and protect exported files appropriately.

8. Children's Privacy

ServiceLedger is not directed toward children under the age of 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically. Changes become effective when the updated policy is posted.

11. Your Rights

Depending on your region, you may have rights regarding your information, including access to your data, deletion of your data, and export of your data. Because ServiceLedger primarily stores data locally on your device, you generally maintain direct control over your information through the app itself.
